We adopted our German Shepard, Riker, about three months ago (August 2019 ). While he was a good dog, we ended up having a few issues with him. He was reactive to some people and other dogs, he led us and sometimes made it difficult to walk him, to name a few things. We saw another trainer but it ended up leading us to give our dog an ungodly amount of treats with little results. Enter Daniel. Daniel came into our home and, in just a few sessions, was able to provide us with the tools to help us understand what was making Riker tick and correct the behavior that needed correcting. Daniel didn’t have tricks or treats. He explained to us the psychology of what was making Riker tick and how to correct and shape his behavior. Daniel worked wonders for our mini Goldendoodle. Our four year old dog suffers from separation and was very vocal every time we left the house. Daniel is a true dog whisperer. When we adopted our 2-yo lab mix, Moxie, from a shelter, we anticipated she might have some issues. We weren’t wrong: she was sweet with people but pulled on a leash like she’s trying to single handedly steer a whole dog sled up Mt Everest, she lunged after every squirrel (or cat) she saw with the strength of Dwayne The Rock Johnson, and she treated every dog as if they were about to assassinate her (or us). We hired a local trainer who was really no help, and over time, things only got worse and not better. Then we met Daniel with Clear K9 Academy, and within the first hour of our first session it was as if we had a brand new dog. She walked tamely beside us on the leash, no longer threatening to pull our arms out of their sockets with her pulling or sudden lunging. And she even looked happier about the new state of affairs too! At first, I thought maybe Daniel just was a magical presence and our dog’s new leash manners would disappear at the end of the session. But after he left, Moxie’s behavior continued to improve- so much that friends and family have commented, amazed. We continue to see huge progress with every session we have with Daniel. We’ve taken to preaching the wonders of Daniel and Clear K9 Academy to anyone who will listen. If you’re thinking of hiring a trainer for your dog, you can’t go wrong with Daniel. He is not only a gifted trainer, but an insightful and patient person. We all (Moxie included) cannot recommend Clear K9 enough.

Daniel has a great ability to put everything in the terms of the dog’s needs and wants. Daniel is an amazing dog trainer, and truly the “Chicago Dog Whisperer!” My dog, Bogey, is a 145 lb. Great Dane/English Mastiff mix and was having anxiety issues after our move to Chicago. I also had the specific goals of visiting the dog park without aggressive or reactionary behaviors, and bringing him to my office. Originally, I tried a group obedience class with little to no improvement. Daniel’s personalized and holistic approach to dog behavior, communication, and psychology was so effective that Bogey and I met and surpassed all of our goals in only 4 short sessions. Bogey now comes to the office with me twice a week, we visit the dog park as much as we can, and everyone comments on how well behaved he is. I cannot recommend Daniel enough!

I only have good things to say about Daniel. First he is very professional, clearly has a passion for dogs and helping their humans. He has a lot of patience and goes above and beyond to help you. So many times we did one hour sessions where he stayed 1h30 to 2 hours and did not complain about it. Every-time I have a question I can text him and he will get back to me with a way to help.
