Daniel — the calm in your chaos.

 

I'm Daniel Christian Charles, and I founded CLEAR K9 Academy for one simple reason: I kept seeing the same thing over and over. Loving owners. Good dogs. And a gap between them that nobody had helped them bridge.

 

There's no shortage of love in most dog households. What's missing is connection — a shared language that makes life together feel natural instead of exhausting. That's what I've spent years learning how to teach.

 

My approach is rooted in dog psychology — understanding how dogs actually think, communicate, and respond — and translating that into practical tools you can use every day. I'm not here to take over and "fix" your dog while you watch. I'm here to teach you, so the results last long after I leave.

 

I've worked with dogs and their guardians in San Francisco and Chicago, and now call Maui home. I service all of the Hawaiian Islands and have worked with dogs and their families on Maui, Oahu, and Lanai — because out here, the relationship between a guardian and their dog doesn't stop at island lines, and neither do I.

 

I've partnered with Friends of Chicago Animal Care and Control through the Bissell Pet Foundation, served as the resident Pet Therapist on WCPT 820 AM talk radio in Chicago, and participated in training workshops and shadowed leading canine behavior experts. I'm also a regular featured guest on Talkative Radio, hosted by Ali B on KAKU 88.5 FM here in Maui, appearing every first Thursday of the month at 3pm — answering listener questions and teaching on canine behavior topics close to my heart.

 

What I've learned through all of it: most "problem dogs" aren't problems at all. They're dogs whose owners just needed someone to show them a different way.
